NATO REPMUS 2024: Breakthroughs in Unmanned Maritime System

Just as space exploration drove groundbreaking advancements 40 years ago, the underwater field now demands disruptive innovations.

The increasingly hostile and crowded underwater domain is driving Navies to adopt a wider range of technologies that are more responsive, flexible, and interconnected.

To support this technological revolution and enhance safety and security, IDS, in collaboration with Fincantieri Group and the Italian Navy CSSN (Centro di Supporto e Sperimentazione Navale), is showcasing our latest advancements the Surface Advanced Naval Drone (SAND) for the second consecutive year at NATO’s REPMUS 2024 in Portugal.

The REPMUS exercise, provides a unique opportunity for NATO and partner countries to test cutting-edge unmanned system solutions in a realistic environment. The Fincantieri Multi Mission MUS Toolkit, based on the SAND with his Launch and Recovery Capability of Graal Tech’s small UUVs and an innovative UMS, is designed to enhance military operations while reducing risks to personnel and proposing an innovative solution.

The successful testing of our cutting-edge unmanned system solutions at the REPMUS exercise represents a significant milestone for the Fincantieri Group and highlights its potential as an asset to navies and other Defence organizations.
